Fun at the Florence Oregon Sand Dunes
When people think about the northwest and Oregon in particular, they might envision tall fir trees, majestic mountains and with good reason, it gorgeous around here and the weather is much better than many people believe. In fact, Oregon is an outdoor paradise!
The Oregon Dunes located just south of Florence are a unique part of northwest beauty. Imagine 40 miles of dunes that adorn the Oregon Coast. It never gets boring, the dunescape is amazingly diverse and fortunately, very accessible along Oregon Highway 101. There are three rivers valleys along the way that merge with two unbelievable stretches of gorgeous sand.
There is a very popular area called South Jetty Hill or “Show Off Hill by OHV fans. There are large sand dunes within the riding area and visitors should be sure to stay within the designated boundaries. There is also a beech adjacent to the riding area that is open to OHV access.
People choose to live in Oregon for a variety of reasons, but those who are fortunate enough to live along the Oregon Coast love it for the Pacific beaches and sand dunes that grace the area.
