Staging for buyers
When you’re selling your home you want buyers to be impressed and linger longer in your home envisioning themselves and their own belongings setting neatly in place of yours. To do this you need to stage and layout your home for the majority of buyers.
Staging means to pack up almost half of all your belongings, close, and cabinet items so that there is plenty of room and buyers do not feel crowded when touring your home. This also allows a lot of freer movement and places for buyers to sit and peruse the house.
Keep colors neutral and make sure there are no bright colors or paint in smaller rooms especially darker colors. This can make rooms seem small and the focus will be on the paint rather than the house itself.
Keep décor general neutral. Put away the flowery bedspreads and curtains or pack up the mallard duck collection and keep decorations and collections to a minimum. Think of staging and setting your home up as a resort hotel. Lovely baskets in the bathroom full of toiletries and knickknacks, rolled up towels that are clean and soft, one or two items out on the kitchen counter and stage things in sets of three for a more striking look.
